Julia (Family & Baby Photography Portland Oregon)
I spent last Sunday afternoon doing a photo session with baby Julia and her parents, Katie and Jeremiah. Katie’s family actually grew up about a block away from my house in NE Portland, so it was really a special shoot for me to get to meet her new family. Julia is a wonderfully laid back baby girl, very curious and able to move around a lot on her own (with the help of a table or something else for support, but she’ll be walking in no time). The hot toy during the photo session was a book called “Olivia’s Opposites,” Julia hardly put it down the whole afternoon and wanted mom and dad to read to her from it (and did a little reading out loud herself too), which made for some really nice photos. I’d brought the entire portable studio set up with me, but we ended up not needing it because the family home had lots of great natural light.

Had a fun time this afternoon with the Penny Jam guys at the filming of the music video for Nick Jaina at the PIE office space in downtown Portland. I got my big break counting off using the clapperboard (you know, the black and white board that people use to say “action” in films).
Took out the lensbaby while we were at it and passed one of my cameras around for other people to play with it, I’m still on the fence about whether that lens is one I’ll use on a regular basis or if it is more of a novelty.
Video should be up in a few weeks, but for now you can check out other videos on www.thepennyjam.com or check out the band’s myspace at www.myspace.com/nickjaina.
