I had a great time last night setting up the old photo station and just watching the action come to me. This time we brought along a couple leftover props from an old party including a mullet-like wig and some sunglasses. Since I was sort of off in a side room, I didn’t get to watch the full performances but I got to sneak in a few times and I could hear all of the bands (Loch Lomond, Tango Alpha Tango, and Double Plus Good), some of the band members even came in to pose for a few pictures.
I put a bunch of the photos below, but to see the whole gallery of nearly 200 pics, click here.

Events By Gather Portraits – Portland Business Photography
Since I’ve had so much fun photographing lots of the beautiful events put together by Monica and Katie at Events by Gather, I was really looking forward to the two-day portrait session with them for their site. We spent some time one morning on the Eastbank esplanade and the surrounding industrial area playing around with props for the photos and exploring the train tracks, and we did some more formal indoor shots at the second shoot. Some of my favorites are below.

I took a trip up to spokane a few months ago, and while I was there did an engagement photo session with Meredith and Jeremy. We had lots of fun running around town looking for cool spots to take pictures, we took a bunch on an old bridge downtown almost at sunset, and others in the early afternoon near an abandoned warehouse (always a cool place to take photos in the city). I’ve been a little bit behind on doing blog posts about my photo sessions, so I figured now would be as good of a time as any to get some of these up.

The ladies at Events By Gather put together a wonderful bridal shower for Sirius this weekend, and I was lucky enough to get to photograph the brunch (and eat some of the yummy food). Sunday was terribly rainy, so “shower” took on two meanings as the guests arrived at the event, but once inside everyone was dry and happy and food and drink were delicious, and the decor really brightened up the day.
Sirius’ wedding is only a few weeks away, and I was amazed how relaxed she was with the wedding date coming up so quickly, she was absolutely radiant that day and gave an endless supply of smiles – which made for some wonderful pictures.
The shower had sort of a french countryside feel to the decor, black and white and bursts of red, if I remember correctly those will also be her wedding colors (and they look great together). The food was just perfect for the day, a selection of warm quiches with a wonderful strawberry, mushroom, and spinach salad, and then little chocolate and vanilla tarts for dessert, all the while accompanied by mimosas with floating raspberries.
It was such a wonderful way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon in Portland, and getting to be a small part of events like this shower remind me why I love doing what I do.

A few weekends ago Becca, TJ, and I headed out to Oregon wine country to take some engagement photos and do a little tasting. It was a really beautiful, sunny day, and it also happened to be TJ’s birthday so we picked up cupcakes and they ended up in a few photos. We spent the morning taking photos before the vineyards opened, and then did tastings in between photo sessions. Around lunchtime a couple friends joined us and I ended up using them as lighting assistants in a few photos, which worked out nicely for me. At the end of the day we made it to one last vineyard and happened upon a tire swing, which also made it into a few of the photos below. I had a really great time spending the day with everyone, and the vineyards (even though there weren’t any leaves on the vines) were a great place for an engagement session (although having great models didn’t hurt either).
Some of my favorites below, whole gallery here.
