Kinzie – Newborn Baby Photos – Portland Oregon
I love getting the chance to photograph newborn babies, and Kinzie was no exception. She was sweet and sleepy for most of our photo shoot, but woke up for a few pictures with her dog Charlie (Charlie was a little harder to get to sit still for the photos – I think she was excited about being a guard dog for the new baby). Everyone got to take turns holding Kinzie throughout the day, and mom and dad were super patient with me as we moved around furniture and snapped photos all over the house. I even took a few of her super cute pink nursery, which her mom and dad were busy decorating in the months leading up to her arrival. What a wonderful family, and what a beautiful new baby!
Kelly and Kyle – Seattle Fremont District Engagement Photos
When Kelly and I first talked about taking her and Kyle’s engagement photos near the Seattle Pacific University campus, we thought we’d meet early to avoid any saturday morning pedestrian traffic. A few days before our shoot we decided to try and meet even earlier so that we could catch the sunrise, and although we were out and about before actual sunrise – we missed it because of all the fog that morning. It turned out that the fog made a lovely background for the shots we did on the Fremont bridge, and the light was just perfect. And while we missed the sunrise, the early morning hour allowed us to joke around and get some really fun shots that we definitely could not have taken at a busier time of day. I had such a great time getting to know these two, and I’m so excited to photograph their wedding this summer!
side note: I know I’m super behind on updating the blog, it is my new year’s resolution this year to be better about it – so I’ll keep trying!
Linda and Glenn – Milwaukie Oregon Wedding
Linda and Glenn got married this weekend at their lovely home in Milwaukie Oregon. It was an intimate ceremony and reception, filled with lots of friends, family, and love. Linda and Glenn are the sort of couple that are so inviting you feel like an old friend the moment you meet them, I was so lucky to get to be a part of their day. The food was delicious, the flowers were absolutely lovely (I really liked the hops that were used to decorate the wedding arch), and the whole event went out without a hitch thanks to the Gather Event Planning team that coordinated it.

Sarah and Kevin – Hood River Wedding – Bella Vista Bed and Breakfast
Sarah and Kevin got married at Bella Vista Bed and Breakfast in Hood River, Oregon. This wedding was full of wonderful personal touches, the home made jam, the ring bearer (their dog!), the hand-made bouquets made by the family and friends the morning of the wedding, it was such a beautiful and unique day to get to be a part of. The pear orchards provided just enough shade during the ceremony, and made for some wonderful photo opportunities later on. The food, from Rip City Grill, was just wonderful, and the cupcakes (hand made by family members) were delicious!
Christi and Patrick’s Wedding – Leach Botanical Garden Portland
Christi and Patrick got married this weekend at the beautiful Leach Botanical Garden in Portland, OR. Christi and Patrick are from Hawaii, so I actually didn’t get a chance to meet them in person until their wedding day, as soon as I met them I knew I’d be in for a great day – both were so calm and happy and the wedding went off without a hitch! I couldn’t have been happier to get to be a part of their celebration, what an absolutely lovely couple!

Yvonne and Josh – Overlook House Portland
Yvonne and Josh had a lovely reception at the Overlook House in North Portland. I had never realized what a great location this was for a wedding, plenty of space both outdoor and inside the venue. The reception was held on the back lawn and the weather could not have been better! Yvonne made lots of the decor herself, and the whole reception had a really beautiful and somewhat vintage look to it (see the vintage cake topper as well). There was even a nod to star trek in the candy bags that guests received as gifts. It was a wonderful, really intimate celebration and I was lucky to be there!
Hilary and Michael’s Portland Wedding – Trinity Episcopal and Rontoms
Had a great time photographing the wedding day of Hilary and Michael. The wedding took place at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Portland, and the reception was at Rontoms. Hilary picked a beautiful shade of blue for the bridesmaid’s dresses that really complimented the yellow calla lilies in their flower arrangements. I loved the hand made flowers used to decorate the reception, and the day turned out to be mostly clear skies so the guests were able to make full use of the outdoor patio at rontoms.

Portland Pug Crawl! Oregon Humane Society’s 12th Annual Pug Crawl
A few of our close friends have pugs, and last year when I heard about the pug crawl I was really disappointed that I’d missed it, so this year I made sure to head down and to Mactarnahan’s taproom and bring my camera along.
The Oregon Humane Society holds the pug crawl each year, proceeds go to help the OHS help animals in need.
All of the pugs (and people) looked amazing! The theme this year was Pug Nation, and the Parade of Pugs allowed all the pugs in attendance to show off their interpretations on the theme.
Below are some of my favorite pictures from the event, here is a link to the entire gallery of pictures.
If you see your pug and want a digital copy of the image, send me an email and I’d be happy to send it along. Thanks to everyone who dressed up their pugs and making this such a cute event to photograph!
Joanne and Garrett’s Wedding at Horning’s Hideout
It was such a lovely August day for Joanne and Garrett’s wedding at Horning’s Hideout near Portland, Oregon. Joanne looked absolutely stunning, and the venue could not have been a more perfect pick for these two. Dancing and celebrating went late into the night at their wedding site right near the lake, and lots of friends and family camped out at the wedding site after the ceremony. I was very impressed with all of the small details Joanne and Garrett put into their wedding, the beer, the decor, and Joanne even made all of the cupcakes herself (they were filled with a delicious custard, and I even got to take a few home with me, yum!). All in all, a very great day with a wonderful group of people.
